Today all the museums in Austin were free and had special programs going on. We chose the Umlauf Sculpture Garden to visit. I figured it was the safest for a 2 year old since it is outdoors and encourages people to touch! They had some live music and clay for the kids to make their own sculpture. We had a fun time.

Met the neighbors out for dinner tonight at El Mercado. We were about 1/4 of the way into eating when Ramona suddenly started crying and saying her tummy hurt. Dave took her outside for some fresh air and decided things were not looking good. I got boxes to take our food home and we got out of there. Luckily she did not get sick and went to sleep pretty well when we got home.

Ginger-Soy Salad

I made this recipe a few weeks ago and tried it again tonight with halibut. It is so easy and so good. The recipe makes lots of sauce and I use that for the salad dressing. I got the recipe from the Cooking Light web site, that is where I find almost all my new recipes. I usually read the reviews before I make something and was not sure this would be so great. Most things I try have lots of reviews and mostly 5 stars. This did not but I don’t know why. It’s really good. It motivated me to write my own review for the first time on the site! I suggest you try it.

it to a yoga class

I have been wanting to take Ramona to a toddler yoga class but the class is at 11am on Tuesdays and I am not sure what to do with Leola. Today Dave was able to work at home so we left Leola in bed napping and Ramona and I walked over to YogaYoga. The class was lots of fun and Ramona was really good at following the instructions. We both had a good time.

We got out the paints today and rolled up our sleeves. Ramona decided to paint a picture of “Ramona Ann” starting with the knees! She moved to the feet, the body the head and then the arms. The small blob she painted by her feet is “baby Leola”.

I have been wanting to try this pizza place I read a review about months ago. When I realized it was right near where Dave works I told him about it. Turns out he had been there once and gave it the thumbs up. So today when Ramona was getting hungry and I was feeling lazy and Dave was at work with no meetings I made the call and we arranged to meet there for lunch. The place is called Niki’s and it was really pretty good for New York Pizza in Texas. We got two lunch specials, one with two slices and the other with a calzone. And let me tell you that calzone was a Texas sized calzone. Never in my years in NYC did I meet a calzone so big. I picked the spinach one. Nicely seasoned with garlic and what seemed to be ricotta and mozzarella cheese. The crust was great. The slices were really good too but value for money the calzone is where it’s at! I told Dave that he should start picking up 2 calzones for dinner on his way home at least once a week! I hope to be back! or better yet, have it delivered by my husband!

Ramona was playing with two stuffed animals, both dalmatian dogs, a tiny one she calls a “baby one” and a medium size one she calls the “daddy one”. She disappeared for a few minutes and then came and told me that they all went to bed. Later when I went in Leola’s room to change her I saw the “baby one” peeking from under the blanket in the crib. I then walked into our bedroom and found the “daddy one” laying on Dave’s side of the bed under the covers and what I suspect is the “mommy cat” under the covers on my side! So cute!

I got a kit to make a Waldorf doll and the supplies to make a second. I am going to try to make the girls their own special doll as a Christmas present. So tonight I started with the head. I did not get too far but at least I have them started. Hopefully they will be a gift this Christmas and not Christmas 2011!
